Counselling Placement at MindKind

Developing confident, ethical and reflective therapists through supported and professionally supervised clinical practice.

Our placements are offered on a limited basis to ensure each trainee receives appropriate clinical support and developmental opportunity.

Supporting Therapists in Training

MindKind Therapies offers in-person voluntary counselling placements across London and online throughout the UK, supporting therapists in their final phase of professional training to gain the clinical hours required for qualification. Our placements provide opportunities to develop clinical skills, confidence and professional identity within a supervised and ethically governed environment.

Trainees may work with clients short-term, adopting an evidenced-based approach or on an open-ended basis, both face-to-face and online, depending on service need.

  • Provide an official 'Fitness to Practice' confirmation from their training institute/university/college to begin clinical work.

Our placement therapists are expected to work within their competence, attend supervision, maintain appropriate records, practice within ethical frameworks, maintain confidentiality, operate within strict risk protocols and demonstrate reliability and professionalism.

Our Approach

MindKind sees placements as an important stage in developing professional identity, not simply gaining hours. We value trainees who demonstrate reflective capacity, reliability, professional curiosity and commitment to their development.

Placements are offered where there is a good fit between the trainee’s developmental needs and the support MindKind Therapies can provide.

Our aim is to help trainees develop not only their clinical hours, but also the confidence, judgement and therapeutic presence required for safe and sustainable practice.

We are proud to contribute to the development of thoughtful, ethical and skilled future therapists.
